We are a part of the prestigious Perth Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Centre (POSM), and we work in close collaboration with respected Orthopaedic Surgeons, Specialists, Sports Physicians, Rheumatologists and Radiologists. These relationships solidified over two decades, gives us and our patient's unique access to these busy leaders of musculo-skeletal medicine, many of whom are our patients themselves.
We also see POSM's post operative patients within Bethesda Private Hospital, allowing continuation of care from operation back to full activity.
Justin is the Group Principal.
Justin has had a prolific career of 20 years caring for the public and in professional sport. Highlights include work with The Australian Rugby Union, The Australian Rugby League, The Australian Wallabies, The Western Force, The Fremantle Dockers, The Rugby World Cup, The International Rugby Board, The New York Jets and Team U.S.A and Canada Ice Hockey Teams.
Justin has the rare honour of holding positions in all three major Australian professional sporting codes. Namely The A.F.L, N.R.L and Super Rugby Union. In the latter, Justin has the distinction of being the first physiotherapist to conceptualise, establish and direct the entire medical team of over 30 leading sports medicine practitioners, physiotherapists, specialists and surgeons for a professional sporting franchise.
Justin has the amazing accolade of working with NFL superstars from the New York Jets (including Legend Darrelle Revis now with The New England Patriots) and maintains a close mutual relationship with their medical team.
Justin was also appointed to set up and run the medical team for Team U.S.A and Team Canada International Ice Hockey Teams.
Personally Justin is a sub three hour marathoner and races international marathons including The ING New York City Marathon, Chicago Marathon and Boston Marathon. He has placed fourth in his age group at the Sydney International Marathon and is the doting father of three young cherubs.
Rachel is a country girl, originally from the central wheat-belt town of Narembeen, then St Mary's Anglican School and The University of Notre Dame.
Rachel is an expert in Musculoskeletal physiotherapy, pre and post operative rehabilitation, sports injuries and has a special interest in Vertigo treatment.
She exudes a wealth of experience from paediatric to geriatric cases and acute to chronic rehabilitation. Rachel has also successfully worked with The Trinity/Aquinas Football Club and The WAFL State Colts team to name but a few.
Rachel enjoys tennis, swimming, yoga and loves to master new things such as cooking and rock climbing. She is very focused on patient centered,outcome based, physiotherapy.
Jordan grew up on a farm located south-east of Goomalling, a small country town in the wheat belt region of Western Australia. Following his graduation from Guilford Grammar School, Jordan moved to Perth to further his education and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from Curtin University.
Jordan has previously worked in the Wheat Belt region of WA exposing him to a variety of clinical presentations which significantly developed his clinical reasoning resulting in outstanding results for his patients. Jordan has also worked in the ergonomic sector with Virgin Australia in both individual consultations and group presentations to the flight staff.
Jordan has also worked extensively in pre and postoperative rehabilitation, chronic musculoskeletal pain and acute back, knee and shoulder pain.
Jordan has significant sports physiotherapy experience. He looked after Team Canada and Team U.S.A during their International Ice Hockey tour, is the Head Physio for the Claremont Jets NFL team and has worked with Wembley Downs Tennis Club, various soccer and AFL clubs.
In his spare time Jordan loves to keep fit and successfully completed the 2013 Rottnest Channel Swim and is an avid runner, competing in local events.
Lydia is a graduate from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. Lydia has both hospital and private practice experience where she has developed and refined her skills in rehabilitation of sporting injuries and postoperative orthopaedics. Lydia has provided injury assessment and therapy for various AFL and soccer teams in the local community over the past four years. She is passionate about helping people achieve their best health and has a keen interest in vestibular conditions and Clinical Pilates.
For over five weeks in 2015, Lydia worked in Shanghai, China at the Sunshine Rehabilitation Hospital, originally built for the Special Olympics. Here she was able to share her physiotherapy skills and knowledge with Rehabilitation Therapists in the Orthopaedic Sports and Trauma sections to significantly advance the hospital's services currently in place.
Aside from work, Lydia enjoys swimming at the beach, social tennis, beach volley ball and netball. Lydia strives to challenge her fitness by running in Perth's major fun runs including the Chevron City to Surf and HBF Run for a Reason. Her latest ambition is training for the Run for a Reason Half Marathon in May this year.
Ryan is a passionate physiotherapist from Curtin University who has a keen interest in sporting injuries being an avid sports person himself. Ryan has played AFL, Hockey, Soccer, Baseball and has completed the Rottnest Swim twice, amongst other sporting achievements.
Ryan has worked with a multitude of sports teams having worked with the North Melbourne Kangaroos AFL side several seasons, a number of other amateur clubs in a range of sporting codes, and is currently the Head Physiotherapist for the reigning Champions of the West Australian Rugby Union Premier League, UWA.
Ryan's previous physiotherapy experience includes substantial amounts of acute post-operative rehabilitation work in both inpatient and outpatient settings, physiotherapy for various elite level sporting teams, as well as a substantial amount of private practice experience with a major focus on sports injuries. Ryan prides himself on getting athletes and the general public alike, back to pain free function as quickly and efficiently as possible.
In his personal life Ryan is recently married and juggles family time with health and fitness pastimes with regular trips to Margaret River and Rottnest.
Christine lived in Broome for 20 years where she worked in all facets of administration in the pearling industry, working with Paspaley Pearls. Chris did some part time modelling and was even crowned Shinju Matsuri pearl festival charity queen . She moved to Perth to marry and has a gorgeous son. They share a love of the beach, renovating their Hillarys home, travel and football. Her special interests are horses, tennis, cooking, the environment and the welfare of animals. She is a conscientious, confident and diligent person who happily engages with all people.
